En butte à une profonde angoisse existentielle et à une grave déperdition ontologique, les personnages luttent de toutes leurs forces pour reconstituer l’unité désagrégée de leur « être » et entament ainsi une re- conquête de soi incessante, polymorphe, sans cesse recommencée.Nous avons donc tenté, tout au long de notre thèse, de rendre compte du travail textuel de cette quête polyvalente à travers l’analyse des techniques d’écriture et des procédés stylistiques et narratifs.Composé de deux grandes sections, notre travail s’ouvre sur l’analyse du programme rhizomatique à l’œuvre dans notre corpus ainsi que sur l’étude des catégories narratives : le statut du narrateur et des personnages. La question des espaces textuels fait l’objet de la seconde partie. Au terme de cette étude, nous avons dégagé quelques caractéristiques de l’écriture de la quête de soi chez Salim Bachi. The purpose of the current study is the quest for self-definition in Le chien d’Ulysse and La Kahéna by Salim Bachi, two novels which join the tragic context in Algeria since the october 1988 riots. Confronted to a profound existential anxiety and to a serious ontological decrease, the characters fight with all their might to reconstitute the unit of their fragmented “beings” and begin a ceaseless and polymorphic quest.We have tried, throughout our thesis, to report the textual work of this multipurpose quest by analyzing the writing techniques and the stylistic and narrative processes.Our work can be divided into two big sections. Our research tackles the analysis of the rhizomatique program fully deployed in the selected corpus as well as the study of the narrative categories : the status of both the narrator and the characters. The question on textual spaces will be tackled in the second part of this research.
