تعد جائحة كوفيد-19 حدثا غير متوقع⸲ و على الرغم من عواقبه المؤلمة و الخطيرة فقد خلق أيضا مساحة للبحث العلمي⸲ الطبي و اللغوي على حد سواء․ من الناحية اللغوية تأثرت اللغة بشكل سريع من خلال الأحداث الاجتماعية المتعلقة بانتشار كوفيد-19⸲ حيث لم تصب العدوى الأشخاص فحسب⸲ بل طالت أيضا اللغة خاصة بين عامي 2020 و 2021⸲ و المثال الأقوى تفسيرا لهذا يتمثل في استثمار الصحافة للحدث باستخدام الكميات الهائلة من الكلمات و العبارات التي صاحبت الوباء․ The COVID-19 pandemic is an unexpected event which, despite its painful and serious consequences, has also created a space for scientific research, both medical and linguistic.
