De la crise des valeurs traditionnelles à l’acculturation et ses variantes telles que l’assimilation et la déculturation, ce roman de Dinguest Zenaba ouvre la voie à des perspectives d’identités transculturelles pour traduire la métamorphose de la gent féminine rurale dans l’espace urbain. En offrant à la ville un rôle fondamental dans son roman, Maïssa Bey nous invite à observer l’espace urbain, mais aussi, à revisiter l’espace ancestral de la ville d’Alger, riche de par son passé colonial. C’est dans ce sillage que la communication présente s’intéresse à la notion de l’espace urbain qui suit un mouvement constant. L’ensemble de ces éléments nous incite à nous interroger sur le rôle qu’a voulu donner Bey à l’espace central de son intrigue, en l’occurrence la ville d’Alger.
