Pour ce faire, nous avons choisi le roman « May Laiali Isis Kobia, Trois Cent et une Nuits dans l’Enfer des Oiseaux » de Wassini Al Aaraj comme modèle. Dans un premier temps, nous avons mis en évidence le titre en tant que reflet de la douleur. Ensuite, nous avons abordé la domination masculine et sa vision inférieure des femmes, ainsi que la crise de la modernité représentée par l’institution médiatique qui s’est liguée contre « May », et le système religieux qui a restreint la liberté des femmes. En conclusion, ce roman est une mosaïque de schémas douloureux, et « May » incarne l’image des femmes arabes souffrant de l’oppression qui leur est imposée, réduites à un simple numéro par les autres. This article aims to analyze the pattern of pain and suffering in the Algerian novel. To achieve this, we selected the novel « May Laiali Isis Kobia, Three Hundred and One Nights in the Hell of the Birds » by Wassini Al Aaraj as a model. Initially, we highlighted the title as a reflection of pain. We then addressed male dominance and its inferior view of women, as well as the crisis of modernity depicted by the media institution that conspired against « May, » and the religious system that restricted women’s freedom.
