Pour cela, nous avons choisi l’approche géocritique de Bertrand Westphal afin d’analyser la thématique de l’apocalypse, en questionnant les frontières de l’univers réel et de l’univers fictif. Nous suivrons le parcours du personnage, Alec, seul habitant d’un îlot de la côte atlantique, confiné dans son espace îlien. Mais, l’avènement d’un événement étrange et inexplicable l’oblige à sortir de son confinement et à méditer sur l’effondrement du monde ainsi que des civilisations. This study focuses of the analysis of Amin Maalouf’s latest novel, Nos frères inattendus (2020). For this, Bertrand Westphal’s geocritical approach has been adopted in order to analyze the theme of the apocalypse, through questioning the borders real universe and fictitious one. We will follow Alec’s journey, a character who is the only inhabitant of an islet of the Atlantic coast, confined to his island space.
